The Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences has over 250 undergraduate majors, 120 graduate students, and a faculty and staff of 20. Students in the Department hail from all over the nation. Upon leaving the University, our graduates enter the clinical, teaching, and research fields throughout the United States.

MSSLHS Program
A total of 57-60 credit hours over 5 semesters are required for the completion of the Master of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (MSSLHS)
Study and training in a full range of evaluation and remediation techniques are integral parts of the curriculum.

Au.D. Program
The University of Texas at Austin offers an interdisciplinary Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) that consists of a minimum of 100 semester credit hours beyond the bachelor's level. The degree program focuses on academic and clinical education for those entering the profession of audiology.

Ph.D. Program
Our program is built on an apprenticeship model. Each doctoral student has a mentor who acts as the students' primary advisor and instructor. The faculty member who's research aligns with your research interest is the best person to answer specific questions about what your individual program might look like.
