Accreditation

The Master of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (MSSLHS) education program in speech-language pathology (residential) and Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) education program in audiology (residential) at The University of Texas at Austin has been placed on probation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700. A program on probation is not currently in full compliance with the accreditation standards. Programs on probation remain accredited but must demonstrate compliance with the standards within one year.

The reason that the program was placed on probation was due to a few minor editorial reasons.

We have made the edits requested. When the CAA reconvenes for their next full meeting in May 2022, they will review and confirm we have made the edits. Upon confirmation, the program’s probationary status will end. The full decision may be found here.

As indicated above, the program remains accredited, and therefore, the probationary status has no implications for student graduation, certification, or licensure.
