The Graduate Program in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences

With 3 graduate degrees to offer, our department allows students to choose the path that will best prepare them for the industry of their choice. 100% of our students have passed the Praxis exam in the past three years and 97% are employed within one year of graduation. Upon leaving the University, our graduates enter the clinical, teaching, and research fields.

MSSLHS Program

Au.D. Program
The University of Texas at Austin offers an interdisciplinary Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) that consists of a minimum of 100 semester credit hours beyond the bachelor's level. The degree program focuses on academic and clinical education for those entering the profession of audiology.
This program gives you both the knowledge and hands-on experience to make a real difference in patients' quality of life and prepares you to step confidently into your career, wherever it may take you.
Ph.D. Program
Our program is built on an apprenticeship model, and each doctoral student has a mentor who acts as the students' primary advisor and instructor. You may contact our faculty with your questions about specific programs.
The SLHS program at UT-Austin has truly been a life-changing experience. This program not only shaped me into a confident clinician but also equipped me with invaluable professional and life skills that I will carry with me throughout my career.

Deadline for Fall applications is December 1st of each year. We do not admit for Spring terms. Our Application is currently closed.
