SKILLS

Project SKILLS is a free parent training program for parents/caregivers of autistic children or children with other developmental disabilities. The project focuses on teaching language intervention strategies to parents for increasing communication, social interaction, and language skills in their child.

Parents/caregivers will participate in 8 sessions (attending 1 session per week). During the opening session, we meet with all enrolled parents/caregivers as a group and go over introductory information about the parent mediated intervention we offer for facilitating play/language growth. The subsequent seven individual sessions are tailored to each family, and the parent/caregiver and child attend together. During each individual session, we will cover detailed lectures, demonstrations, and coaching over these specific skills. This training is offered in-person at the UT Speech and Hearing Center or via secure video conferencing to your home.

We have ongoing enrollment! Training is offered in English and Spanish.
